At Biodevas Laboratoires, we make it a point of honor to pass on our knowledge and expertise to new generations. That is why, since 2018, Biodevas Laboratoires a partner of the Lycée Agricole La Germinière agricultural college in Rouillon.
The Rouillon Agricultural High School welcomes 450 pupils and students in general and technological courses:
- General and Technological Secondary Education, Scientific Baccalaureate, and Technological Baccalaureate
- Vocational baccalaureate and BTS (advanced vocational training certificate)
- Partnered with the University of Maine in the preparation of Professional Licenses
Biodevas Laboratoires products to reinforce the theoretical approaches studied by students during their training with concrete educational projects. The use of products supplied by the laboratory can thus be the subject of practical workshops for students, in addition to updating data on products already on the market, such as Pietix, Imusyne, Draistim, and Parasyne.
Pietix
Pietix now Pietix in use for six months. In March 2019, our team was able to attend the trimming and see the beginning of improvements in animal welfare, with cows less sensitive and lesions less painful. The second trimming will take place in September 2019, allowing us to assess the results of using Pietix .
Imusyne
Imusyne is used in preparation for calving to stimulate the immune system and limit metritis and mastitis. It is used by the Rouillon Agricultural College to improve the quality of colostrum in cows preparing to calve. In order to appreciate the qualities of this product, our team Biodevas Laboratoires the results of tests conducted by Biodevas Laboratoires to the farm manager.
Draistim
The objective is to evaluate the impact of using Draistim on post-calving energy deficit. Draistim is used during the first week after calving, and ketone bodies are measured in the blood three weeks after calving. The results are compared with a control group.
Parasyne
Parasyne the impact of internal parasites on dairy cows. It will be introduced in May for dairy cows. The product's effectiveness is assessed using coproscopy results before and after use, compared with those of a control group. If the protocol is feasible, a trial will also be conducted on second-year heifers to demonstrate the benefits of Parasyne managing parasitism in young animals, in addition to pasture rotation techniques.
The collaboration with the Lycée Agricole de Rouillon also involves presentations at the school itself by our technical team (veterinarian, technician). Various topics are covered, such as how the products work, presentations of results, and, above all, discussions with the students to answer all their questions.
The most recent event took place in February 2019 in front of around 200 students in their junior and senior years and around 20 adults undergoing professional retraining.
In order to better answer everyone's questions, round tables will be organized in small groups to discuss the use of Biodevas Laboratoires products Biodevas Laboratoires farms.
