Coccidiosis is recognized by ANSES, in its "animal diseases" data sheet, as the most damaging parasitic disease in poultry farming, with a worldwide cost estimated at over 12 billion euros in 2020. The persistence of parasites, the development of resistance to coccidiostats, poor rotation of molecules and abrupt dietary transitions make coccidiosis a complex challenge. Regulatory and environmental perspectives, as well as consumer expectations, are driving us to integrate more natural solutions with a reduced carbon footprint into our programs.
Green Chicken: an innovative project in Algeria
In collaboration with our local partners, Plantaxion and Khidder, Biodevas Laboratoires Algeria's first production chain for chickens raised without antibiotics and chemical coccidiostats, under the name Poulet Vert. This initiative has enabled us to rethink all aspects of coccidiosis management, from the environment to nutrition, resulting in a new positive experience with our products. VEMERIA (feed) and ENTERIA (drinking water).
A three-pronged approach to coccidiosis management
Our approach, also applied and recognized in ruminants, is based on three major actions:
- Prevention of oxidative stress: by stimulating the NRF2 pathway, we promote the homeostasis and development (1) of digestive epithelia, strengthening their resilience and stabilizing the microbiota.
- Environment unfavorable to coccidia: we create environmental conditions that do not favor the development of coccidia.
- Development of local immunity: our products stimulate the immune response of animals, increasing their natural resistance to coccidia.
A non-biocidal approach contributing to animal resilience
Products VEMERIA and ENTERIAproducts are 100% natural and derived from mainly French plants, extracted using our in-house process. They are non-biocidal and compatible with coccidiosis vaccination. This approach supports animal welfare while preventing the development of new resistances and maintaining farm performance.
Suitable for all types of livestock
VEMERIA and ENTERIA play a crucial role in the management of coccidiosis, in combination with good farming practices.
Available in solid form for food (VEMERIA) or liquid form for drinking water (ENTERIA), these products are suitable for conventional and organic farms, while having a limited carbon footprint. They can also be concentrated for B2B applications.
By reducing dependence on chemical molecules, these products help us to achieve our One Health objectives.
