ICEN: a natural solution for supporting the gut health and performance of broilers

The trial was conducted on a conventional farm that experienced repeated contamination by Enterococcus and E. coli.
Protocol
• 675 male Ross 308 broilers, divided into 3 buildings
• 45 cages, each holding 15 animals
• Administration of ICEN via feed:
- 1 kg/t in Starter crumb feed (D0 to D10)
- 1 kg/t in Growth pellet feed(D20 to D28)
• Monitoring the presence of Enterococcus and E. coli at different stages
• Measurement of average daily gain (ADG) on D35
• Evaluation of lameness score (from 0 to 2, where 2 corresponds to the most severe lameness)

Results
The use of ICEN produced significant results in terms of poultry health and performance:
A marked reduction in severe lameness, indicating improved locomotor integrity.
An ADG higher than J35, indicating better feed conversion and muscle deposition.
These results confirm that incorporating ICEN from an early age promotes optimal intestinal development while improving gut health and general well-being in animals.
