INEDIA, your all-around ally against mycotoxins!

INEDIA, an innovation to manage mycotoxins (recognised in 2020 by Innov’Space) was trialled at a testing centre against a leading product on the market.

Derived from a unique technology that aims to increase animal tolerance to mycotoxins, INEDIA showed excellent results during a test at the centre in Brazil (SAMITEC).

The test was completed on broilers, and four methods were tested:

  • A negative control group which had consumed standard blank feed
  • A positive control group which had the same feed but contaminated with a mix of 3 mycotoxins (aflatoxins, fumonisins, deoxynivalenol)
  • A group which received the contaminated feed and a leading product on the market against mycotoxins, incorporated at 1 kg per tonne
  • A group which received the contaminated feed and INEDIA incorporated at 250 g per tonne

Several parameters were measured over 21 days of testing, such as body weight, feed conversion ratio but also intestinal villi height/crypt depth ratio.

At the end of the trial, the INEDIA group had a higher body weight than the negative control group, which, although they had not consumed mycotoxins, achieved a similar feed conversion ratio. And this is with the animals having consumed mycotoxins throughout the test.

The group which received the contaminated feed and the leading product did not perform as well, with a slightly higher body weight than the positive control.

INEDIA’s performance could notably be explained thanks to the intestinal villi height/crypt depth ratio, higher in the INEDIA group than all other groups, allowing improved nutrient absorption. INEDIA allowed the poultry to consume feed contaminated with mycotoxins without worsening performance – it even improved.

INEDIA alone is an effective solution to limit the impact of mycotoxins in feed and improve growth performance. An all-around ally, regardless of the circumstances, INEDIA can also be added as an ingredient to specific blends which you can develop or enrich.
