INEDIA, an innovation for managing mycotoxins (awarded an Innov' Space prize in 2020), was tested at an experimental station against a benchmark product on the market.
Based on a different technology, which aims to increase animals' tolerance threshold to mycotoxins, INEDIA shown very good results in a trial conducted at an experimental station in Brazil (SAMITEC).
The trial was carried out on broiler chickens and four methods were tested:
- A negative control group that consumed a standard white food
- A positive control group that received the same feed but contaminated with a mixture of three mycotoxins (aflatoxins, fumonisins, deoxynivalenol)
- One group received the contaminated feed and a commercially available product for controlling mycotoxins, incorporated at a rate of 1 kg per ton.
- A group that received the contaminated feed and INEDIA at 250 g per ton
Several parameters were measured during the 21 days of the trial, such as live weight, feed conversion ratio, and the ratio of intestinal villi height to intestinal crypt depth.
At the end of the trial, the INEDIA group INEDIA a higher live weight than the negative control group, which did not consume mycotoxins, while having a feed conversion ratio as good as that of the negative control group. This was despite the fact that the animals consumed mycotoxins throughout the trial.
The batch that received the contaminated feed and the reference product did not perform as well, with a live weight slightly higher than that of the positive control.
INEDIA performanceINEDIA be explained in particular by the villus height/intestinal crypt depth ratio, which is higher for the INEDIA group INEDIA all other groups and allows for better nutrient absorption. INEDIA therefore INEDIA the poultry to consume feed contaminated with mycotoxins without any deterioration in their performance; in fact, their performance was even improved.
INEDIA alone is therefore an effective solution in its own right for limiting the impact of mycotoxins in feed and improving growth performance. A versatile ally in all circumstances, INEDIA also be used as an ingredient in specific mixtures that you may wish to develop or enrich.
